Sesame pie

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Ingredients

  • 1 kg flour

  • ½ kg sesame seeds

  • ½ kg walnuts

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 cup butter mixed with seed oil

  • A little olive oil

  • A little vinegar

  • A little salt

Syrup

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 kg sugar

  • ½ lemon

  • Cloves

 

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the flour, vinegar, olive oil, a little salt, and enough water for the dough. Knead and let rest for half an hour. Wash the sesame seeds thoroughly and roast them at 200°C for about 30 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Then, grind the sesame seeds and finely chop the walnuts.

Roll out the dough into a thin sheet. Spread the filling and roll it around the rod. Remove the rod, leaving the dough rolled with the filling. Place the filled rolls on the baking tray, and once the tray is full, cut them into diamond shapes. Grease generously with butter and seed oil.

Bake at 200°C for about one hour. Prepare the syrup and drizzle it over the sesame pie once it has cooled.
