Meat with Quinces and Plums – Sour Apples

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork or beef

  • 2 dried onions

  • 1 kg quinces

  • 3-4 tomatoes

  • 1 cup olive oil

  • 2-3 cups water

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Ground allspice

Instructions

Sauté the meat in the oil, and once it browns on all sides, add the onion, followed by the tomatoes and the spices. Pour in the water and let the meat simmer. Then, add the quinces, which you have sliced, and allow everything to come to a boil for about 15 minutes. Do not use a spoon to stir, to avoid breaking the quinces. Gently swirl the pot in a circular motion to mix the dish.
