Laggites with sugar

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Ingredients

  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 g dry yeast
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp tsipouro
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Olive oil for frying
Instructions 

In a bowl, sift the flour. In another bowl, place the yeast, sugar, and dissolve with a little lukewarm water. Add the yeast mixture and water to the flour and mix very well until you get a thick batter. Cover and let the batter rest for 30 minutes.

In a frying pan, heat the olive oil well. Pour in the batter, forming round fritters. Alternatively, you can use a funnel, placing the batter inside, covering the opening with your finger, and allowing the batter to flow, creating uniform fritters.

Fry on both sides until golden brown. Place the fritters on a plate lined with absorbent paper. Serve with honey, powdered sugar, cinnamon, or with jam or cheeses like anthotyro or graviera.
