Purmas Date fruit

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Ingredients

 

For the Dough:
  • 1 kg flour

  • Water, as needed

  • A pinch of salt

For the Filling:
  • ½ cup sugar

  • 2 ½ cups walnut kernels (chopped)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the ingredients for the dough and knead with your hands to form a soft mixture. Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.

Next, divide the dough into 4-5 equal parts and roll them out into sheets.

In another bowl, mix the ingredients for the filling well.

Spread an equal amount of filling on each sheet of dough and roll it up.

Arrange the rolls in a circular pattern in a greased baking dish, starting from the center and working outward until the entire dish is covered.

Bake the purmas in a moderate oven until golden brown.

Optionally, you can drizzle it with syrup after baking.
