Cherry jam

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Ingredients

  • 1 kg cherries
  • ½ kg sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

We clean the cherries and weigh them. We remove the pits directly into the pot where we will make the jam, so we can collect the juices that drip. We layer cherries and sugar in the pot. Once it starts boiling, we reduce the heat. We remove the foam that forms on the surface and stir with a wooden spoon. We cook for about 25 to 40 minutes. Once the jam sets, we divide it into hot sterilized jars. We seal them and turn them upside down on the counter. Once they cool, we store them in a cool place.
